During the world cup qualifier match in the Friends Stadium in Stockholm on 22 March, Irish foods like cheeses, Kelly's oysters and of course our Burren Smoked Irish Organic Salmon were brought into Stockholm to charm the Swedish and Irish soccer fans.
Birgitta went over there to mark the occasion of the launch of our Burren Smoked Salmon in Sweden and took these pictures. The first one shows (from left to right) the chef Niel Ponsonby (head chef for the Arena stadium catering), Michael Moran from Moran's on the Weir, Kilcolgan (European Champion & World Champion Oyster opener!) and Jörgen Lind (sales director of Leröy Distribution Company).
Niel Ponsonby, the chef of the extremely busy stadium kitchen, wrote a blog about the Irish food he got in especially for the event. This blog makes it very clear what a huge undertaking it is to feed the fans! They served 4,000 sit-down dinners and had the same amount again of fast food takeouts!
