The Milwaukee Irish Fest was a full success, and literally so: an estimated 150,000 people with Irish roots or affinity to Ireland visited the four day event. They had the chance to listen to Irish music, find out about their genealogy and taste Irish food to name just a few attractions on offer.
Birgitta was there at this amazing festival with the Mayor of Clare, Joe Arkins, who dressed up as Brian Boru, the famous Irish king born in County Clare. With them were Maureen Cleary from the Clare Tourism Forum, Katherine Webster, manager of the Cliffs of Moher, as well as Ger Dollard from Clare County Council.
As you can see in the picture, Birgitta gave a couple of smoking demonstrations with the help of two woks on a gas stove. It is amazing how little equipment you need for smoking fish! The rest of the time she spent promoting County Clare, the Burren of course, and Irish food by giving out tastings of our Burren Smoked Salmon.
