As you already know, we won four medals at the Great Taste Awards 2013. Three of them are 3-star Gold medals. Of the almost 10,000 products submitted, only 125 achieved the 3-stars status. So you can imagine that we were very happy about that. We thought it could not get any better than this, but we were wrong!
As we learnt at the gala dinner on 9 September, our Burren cold Smoked Irish Organic Salmon with Seaweed took the biscuit, excuse the pun. It made it into the TOP 50 FOODS selected by the judges of the Great Taste Awards 2013. It was this same salmon that was served to the guests of the gala dinner.
Bruce Langlands, Director of Food at Harrods in London, gave this new salmon creation of ours this raving video review. He said, "This is the most fantastic smoked salmon that I have ever tasted. It comes from the Burren Smokehouse and is produced by probably one of the biggest fishy foodies I know in Ireland called Birgitta, and her team." He goes on to say that it is beautifully smoked with delicate smoke flavours. And he also mentions that we served it to the Queen.
Now, if that is not a recommendation, we don't know what is!
