On October Bank Holiday weekend, following on from a successful season, the Burren Ecotourism Network celebrate the harvest with the 2nd Burren Food Fayre on Sunday 27th October 2013 at the Pavilion, Lisdoonvarna, County Clare.
At the Burren Food Fayre you will enjoy tasting and judging produce on stalls of 18 local Artisan Food Producers, four cookery demonstrations covering preparing seafood, using local meats and artisan foods, gluten free baking and preparing dishes with foraged foods, talks on and tasting of wine and chocolate, a workshop on homemade foods.
The Burren MASTERCHEF competition is one highlight with categories for all enthusiastic cooks, Seconday Schools and Adults, Prizes include a course for two at Bunratty Cookery School and Ballymaloe Cookery School and others prizes from Cassidys Pub & Restaurant and Fr. Ted's House for runners up. The Burren MASTERCHEF competition will use blind tastings by three judges, last years winner Richard Morrison, Donnagh Gregson, Bunratty Cookery School and Chef, John Sheedy, of Sheedy's Hotel & Restaurant in Lisdoonvarna.
You will have a chance to judge the 'Best Taste of the Fayre' and 'Most Attractive Stall' of the 16 Artisan Food Producers as you enjoy the tastes of the Burren food on offer. Raffle prizes include a family ticket for Doolin Cave and dinner for two Chez Azur Restaurant.
