On 5th March 2014, a new initiative is being launched in Lisdoonvarna (see details below) that will tell the "Burren Tourism Story" in a new way. Information stands by the Burren Ecotourism Network members will paint a vivid picture of what to expect when coming to the Burren.
Just a little recap: A lot of things have happened over the last few years in the North Clare region in which the limestone area called the Burren is located...
... first of all, the Burren Ecotourism Network was set up, with more and more businesses in the area joining the network to promote not only the most interesting ways to discover the Burren, but also a sustainable way of doing it.
... then, the Burren and the neighbouring Cliffs of Moher obtained Geopark status last year (read more here).
... and finally, after introducing the Burren Food Trail last year, we are launching the new Burren Tourism Story!
This is a great chance to discover all the different aspects of the Burren's activities, adventures, food and heritage.
Guest speakers include Prof. Finbarr Bradley, author and green business lecturer; Fiona Monaghan, Head of Programmes & Delivery, Fáilte Ireland; and Pól O’Conghaile, award-winning travel writer and journalist.
