Seaweed salad, sea salt ice cream, algae cheese - all this can be discovered and tasted when you come to the southwest coast of Ireland!
Audiotraveller Henry Barchet has met with Irleand's culinary innovators and was very surprised to find such a variety of new tastes and foods derived from what the land and the sea has to offer.
He meets Oonagh O'Dwyer from Wild Kitchen in Lahinch and discover how valuable seaweed is. Parknasilla, the luxury hotel in Kerry, and ice cream producer Kieran Murphy from the town of Dingle are on Henry's list of places and people to visit, before he comes to Lisdoonvarna to talk to Birgitta about smoking salmon.
A cheese maker from Germany living right on the coast, the publican from Durty Nellie's and others tell us about their products and specialities.
Listen to the podcast here - don't worry about the German comments, you can listen to the interviewees in English.
