Broadcasting to a global audience reached a different level this St. Patrick's Day: This broadcast was a lifeline to especially the Irish diaspora living in far-flung places who were able to enjoy a great mix of Irish traditional and contemporary music as well as information on County Clare all day long.
The novelty about it was the way it was broadcast. It could be listened to globally over the Ennis App which is free to download onto mobile devices.
The Ennis app is a great app that will list events in Ennis, or it lets the users avail of vouchers for shops, restaurants and other kinds of businesses.
Ger Sweeney interviewed a lot of people from Clare, and mixed the interviews with all sorts of music by Irish artists. He also interviewed Birgitta Hedin Curtin (0:20 h, 1:06 h and 1:18 h into the broadcast), and her husband Peter Curtin about the Roadside Tavern and the Burren Brewery (1:40 h).
