Travel & Arrival Guidance
Below please find different areas of interest when you are planning your visit. This section will cover how to get to the Burren Smokehouse and what to expect when arriving.
Different ways of getting to Lisdoonvarna and the Burren Smokehouse
Arrive by car:
The Burren Smokehouse is situated off the N67 in Lisdoonvarna. It is a 15-minute drive from the Cliffs of Moher, 20 minutes from Ballyvaughan (via N67), 15 minutes from Ennistymon and 40 minutes from Ennis. From Galway, the drive via the N67 takes about 1 h 45 min.
You can park in our free car park with a tarmac surface and walk 50 metres on a footpath to the Burren Smokehouse Visitor Centre. There is no height restriction barrier. The car park can accommodate coaches.
Arrive by public transport:

There is a regular bus service from Ennis and from Galway stopping at the crossroads in the centre of Lisdoonvarna, about 50 metres from the Roadside Tavern and 200 metres from the Burren Smokehouse. The bus routes are the 350 (direct route) and the 351 (takes the coast road via Fanore). From Shannon Airport, you can take a bus to Ennis and then another to Lisdoonvarna.
Getting around while you are in the Burren & Cliffs of Moher Geopark area:

Running from May to August, the Burren Explorer shuttle bus will bring tourists and locals alike around on different routes – for free! Also included is free admission to the Cliffs of Moher Experience if you arrive by the shuttle bus. See more information on our Explore the Burren & Cliffs of Moher for free page!
Please note that to access the buses, a few steps have to be negotiated.
Arrive by air:

Shannon Airport is the closest airport. It is located in southern Co. Clare and has car rental and public transport by bus (route 330 servicing the airport) available.
Other airports are Dublin, Cork, Farranfore (Kerry) Airport and Ireland West (Knock) Airport.

Free familiarisation visits are available. Helpers are welcome to arrange a visit ahead of booking or their visit to familiarise themselves with the venue at no additional costs.

There is a pharmacy in Lisdoonvarna, the Burren Pharmacy. It is 240 metres from the Burren Smokehouse. You will find it by entering the Eircode V95 P953 into Google Maps.
