Roadside Tavern - Sample our Salmon

The Roadside Tavern
in Lisdoonvarna is one of the oldest pubs in County Clare. It is also owned by the Curtin family and is over one hundred years old. Peter Curtin always gives a warm welcome to his customers.

The tavern is just down the road from the Burren Smokehouse, and well worth a visit for the music, the microbrewery beers and the food!

The Roadside Tavern is a popular place to experience Irish music by local musicians and during festival time in Lisdoonvarna, people from all over the world enjoy good food, drink, & craic there, or as we say it in Ireland, 'Craic agus Ceol'. Billy, the head barman and his crew make sure that everyone is relaxed and enjoying themselves.

The award-winning food menu is filled with delicious dishes such as traditional Irish bacon & cabbage and a traditional rendition of Irish stew as well as Colcannon with either sausages or Burren hot smoked salmon.

Pride of place is given to several dishes featuring Smoked Fish from the family's Burren Smokehouse. Try the Burren smoked fish platter which is served with a fresh salad.

All the ingredients used in Kieran's Kitchen are carefully chosen and locally sourced. They only use the freshest ingredients and their emphasis is on traditional Irish cuisine. They take great pride in the quality of their foods and have received many awards, the latest being the "Best Gastro-Pub in Clare 2016".

The Roadside Tavern serves the finest of stouts, ales, lagers, wines and spirits. The best of them are brewed in our pub, in the Burren Brewery: Burren Gold, Burren Red Ale and Burren Black.
